Lisa Balls, LPCA

PSYCHOTHERAPIST

As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, I strive to tap into each individual’s authenticity and create a life to be proud of. My goal for each individual pays attention to barriers for achieving potentials and working through trauma that have fostered a decrease in mental health. I believe helping individuals through a therapeutic collaboration that builds trust grants substantial growth. From the modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy my intention is to help build reliable and effective techniques for decreasing the control an individual’s thoughts may hold. As an existential clinician, I have and continue to support children, adolescents, adults, and families on the road to empowerment.

I have expertise supporting:

  • Persistent and major depression - with trainings in approaching harmful and unwanted thoughts

  • Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders - while identifying triggers and warning signs leading to emotional dysregulation

  • Complex trauma - working through PTSD symptoms and managing experiences

  • Eating Disorders and body-image concerns - including those tied to athleticism and social norms

  • Substance use and addiction - in addition to relapse prevention training and building strategies for recovery
