Alexis Schuchmann, LCSW, LICSW
Psychotherapist & clinical Supervisor
My Approach to Therapy
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) with several years of experience providing individual treatment in both outpatient and community-based environments. My clients find their way to me when exploring the need for change, for assistance in navigating the full breadth of life’s stressors, and for support in managing emotions which leave them feeling stuck, stagnant, or unfulfilled.
While striving to cultivate a compassionate and comfortable space to work through whatever has brought you here, I utilize a wide variety of modalities to customize treatment specifically for you. Through a combination of psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive practices provided with a relational, person-centered approach, I view my role as a therapist as that of a teammate. No treatment is one-size fits all so together, we will find the right approach for you to access your inner strengths and live your most aligned life.
My areas of expertise include:
LGBTQIA+ care and support
Life transitions and stress management
Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
Depression
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
Bipolar Disorder
Grief and loss
I’ve additionally worked with athletes around the role of mental health in performance.
